Madison and Troy's Southern Wedding

Madison and Troy's Southern Wedding

Madison was an absolutely stunning, storybook bride. And I’m not just saying that because she is my first cousin (and also Maid of Honor at our wedding!) I also got to shoot this wedding with my mom, who helped fuel my passion for photography. Madison and Troy got married at Frost Chapel at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Though this was a southern wedding, it had a romantic European flair that was so special. Their love for each other and for Jesus was obvious, and it meant to so much that we got to capture their precious day.

The Time We Celebrated Desirée's Adoption

The Time We Celebrated Desirée's Adoption

The Patons welcomed baby Desirée into their home and began the adoption process, and we were all SO EXCITED, but when we did this photoshoot, she was not legally theirs yet, so we had to get tons of photos that didn’t show her face. It was so difficult to do that, because as a photographer, it goes against everything you are used to capturing: the eyes, those baby cheeks, and all the cute facial expressions. Now that everything is finalized with the adoption, I am thrilled to share this joyful lifestyle shoot in LaFayette Park in St.Louis.

The Time with the Covered Bridge

The Time with the Covered Bridge

Any time you get to do a session with a sweet mama, her two baby girls and a covered bridge, it’s going to be a good day. We originally wanted that highly coveted golden hour light, but the day of our shoot, it was a grey, misty and overcast day in St.Louis. What we thought was going to be a drawback actually turned out to be a huge blessing, because we were able to create this British countryside, sort of mysterious, alluring vibe that really pulls you in and creates a balance with the otherwise feminine flair that was happening in all other aspects of the shoot. That’s the kind of dynamic range I love to achieve in photos- that push and pull, yin and yang. We had such a fun adventure capturing these photos, and I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do.

The time Liz started her senior year

The time Liz started her senior year

Liz really is mature beyond her years, yet she maintains an innocence that is rare in most 18 year-olds. She’s on track to be Valedictorian of her class of more than 600, but you’ll never hear her brag about her ACT score. Above all, she loves the Lord with all her heart, soul and and, and I could not be more proud to call her my cousin and capture just a hint of her sparkling soul on camera.
